Introduction to The Skills System

Presented by Mike Jersey, LPC

The Skills System, developed by Julie F. Brown, is an emotion regulation curriculum specifically designed for people diagnosed with developmental disabilities. The system is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy and incorporates three system tools and nine skills. This session will provide an introductory overview of The Skills System with examples of how these tools and skills have been beneficial in teaching people with developmental disabilities to develop effective coping repertoires.
