The number of adults aged 60+ living with a developmental disability is expected to double over the next decade. Seniors with DD face more challenges as they age, but continue to hold values and accomplish goals. In this session, learn about signs and strategies when planning for senior clients with DD and consider how values may play a role in care.

This discussion will explore the significance of our verbal and non-verbal interactions and how we choose to interact with people can influence the outcomes of our interactions. Simple yet powerful interaction techniques will be discussed, as well as highlighting the benefits of utilizing these techniques such as rapport building, the ability to deescalate situations, enhancing dignity, and creating a validating environment for those we serve. Challenge yourself to make the most of your words and make every interaction count.

This training will be offered during two time-slots. Please choose ONE SESSION that works for you.
